Bastrop River of Lights
Experience the magic of the season along Bastrop’s beautiful River of Lights! Stroll the half-mile June Hill Pape Riverwalk, transformed into a twinkling wonderland with hundreds of sparkling displays in festive holiday themes. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the season as the trail winds along the scenic Colorado River.
Access the Riverwalk from the stairs west of Main and Pine Streets, or use the fully accessible entrance at Fisherman’s Park on Willow Street.

Sip, shop, and celebrate the season in Downtown Bastrop at the Annual Wassail Fest! Grab your souvenir Wassail Cup (pre-registration encouraged) and stroll through downtown as local businesses serve up their own special recipes of homemade hot mulled cider—then cast your vote in the annual People’s Choice Awards in two categories for your favorite wassail. Enjoy festive music and soak in the holiday spirit all evening long.
Held in conjunction with American Express Small Business Saturday, Wassail Fest encourages everyone to shop small and support local this holiday season.

Get ready for a jolly good time at the Bastrop Main Street Program’s annual Merry on Main! Spend the day in Downtown Bastrop enjoying festive fun for the whole family—write letters to Santa, shop ‘til you drop, and soak up the holiday cheer around every corner. With local shops, sweet treats, and plenty of surprises, it’s a day you won’t want to miss!
Saturday, December 13th | 10AM–3PM | Downtown Bastrop
Join us for one of Bastrop’s most beloved holiday traditions—the Lost Pines Lighted Christmas Parade! Don’t miss more than 150+ dazzling entries, from fanciful floats and fire trucks to unicycles, vintage cars, dancing Honey Bears, and even Santa himself. Produced by the City of Bastrop, this joyful celebration lights up Main Street and brings holiday cheer to all ages.
The parade begins at dusk (approximately 6:00 PM) and travels south down Main Street.
There will be no pre-registration form this year. All registration will be done on-site starting at 3pm.
