Texas will be centerstage for a total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024!  In Bastrop, at approximately 12:20 pm, the moon will start to block the sun causing an (almost) total solar eclipse. Bastrop Big Bang Celebration

Come join us for the inaugural Big Bang Celebration full of patriotic events!   Begins with the Bastrop Stampede 5K and Kids Mile at 8 am. The Pet and Pal Parade begins at 10am, after which Bastrop's historic Main Street hosts a cornhole tournament. Bastrop B A N G O offers a chance for visitors to complete downtown bingo cards to be entered into a prize drawing. Lastly, Market Days takes place downtown with sidewalk vendors selling handmade items. The celebration culminates in Fisherman's Park at 6pm with music, concessions and fireworks at dusk.
