RV Camps & Cabins 

With two state parks, the Colorado River, and abundant pine forests, Bastrop is an ideal destination for hiking, fishing, camping. So plan to pull up your RV for an extended visit or make a charming and historic cabin your home away from home for a long weekend. Whatever you choose, you’ll receive a Texas-size welcome and warm hospitality. 

If you’re looking for time in a beautiful state natural area, plan to stop in Bastrop State Park where you can park your RV or rent a cabin. The park covers nearly 6,000 acres and is the site of the famous “Lost Pines,” an isolated timbered region of pines. The park provides opportunities for backpacking, camping, picnicking, canoeing, golfing, wildlife viewing, and hiking.
 So plan to park your RV at one of nearly 50 available sites or reserve one of the park’s historic cabins that were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. 

Buescher State Park offers another beautiful natural space to park an RV. Roughly 1,000 acres of scenic area that neighbors Bastrop State Park, Buescher offers over 50 campsites (most with electricity), as well as four screened shelters, a dump station, a group picnic area and a large recreation hall with a kitchen. Boating, fishing, hiking, mountain bike riding, and more are available.

Beyond the state parks, travelers can enjoy a number of RV parks in the area. Bastrop RV Park has been serving campers since 1984 and offers 90 full hook-up RV sites for back-ins or pull-throughs with 30 or 50 amp connections, water, sewer, and cable TV. They even have the Barbie Ranch on-site where guests can pet very sweet miniature horses and donkeys. The Oaks RV Park is family owned and operated, offering 50 full hook-up RV sites on 15 acres shaded with beautiful oak trees. Concrete pads with patios are available, making any visit comfortable and enjoyable. A new outdoor pavilion provides plenty of shade and space for gathering with friends, old and new.

For a little more privacy, check out the Cottages at ColoVista. With eight comfortable cottages to choose from, you’ll be able to have a private place to retreat after a round of 18 at ColoVista Golf Club. Sip your morning coffee on your patio overlooking the multiple award-winning course. Enjoy the view and the tee times with special “Stay and Play” packages, dine on-site, and walk the nature trails through and around the course and nearby wooded areas.

Nature lovers can take advantage of affordable cabins along Lake Bastrop, just outside of town. Wake to the gentle sounds of herons gliding across the water while you prepare for a day of boating, hiking, or bird watching.
