Every night, there’s an exciting event to catch your interest. Kicking things off on Tuesday, August 1st at 7:30 PM is the County Team Roping event — cheer on your favorite team as they compete in a game of good old-fashioned steer roping.

Then, on Wednesday at 8 PM, watch Bastrop’s best equestrians compete in an exhibition barrel race. One of the rodeo’s most exhilarating events, this particular contest tests the abilities of both horse and rider as they navigate the barrel course, showing off their agility and speed.

On Thursday, anyone has a chance to prove their skills in the cornhole tournament. Signups open an hour before the event, which starts at 7 PM, so grab a partner and head over to the Showbarn for a bit of friendly competition.

Little cowboys and cowgirls can take the spotlight on Friday and Saturday in the Mutton Bustin’ competition. Catch this crowd-favorite event at 7 PM, and watch brave young buckaroos try their hand at sheep riding.

Besides heart-pounding, jaw-dropping rodeo fun, the weekend brings heaps of entertainment for the whole family. There’s live music Friday and Saturday nights, featuring local talents the

Peterson Brothers Band, the Wyatt Ellis Band and DJ Joey. Additionally, for the kids or the young at heart, the weekend brings a carnival, complete with classic carnival games and rides. The five-day event concludes on Saturday with the Grand Parade in Downtown Bastrop, starting at 10 AM. Throughout the day, there will also be a horseshoe and washer tournament, a 4-H cake auction and of course, live music and the carnival. Weekend passes are $25 each — see the full pricing list on the event website.
