Lake Bastrop South Shore Park has features to appeal to families, campers, anglers and nature lovers. The 900-acre Lake Bastrop contains bass, crappie, perch and catfish. Anglers can drop a line from the park's fishing pier or head out on a boat from the park's ramp. Sailing, skiing and canoeing are other popular activities on the lake. Lake Bastrop South Shore Park offers a nine-hole mini golf course, on-site watercraft rentals, a 4-mile hike and bike trail, and retail store with snacks and souvenirs. On shore, park visitors can enjoy the shaded day-use and swim areas for picnics, a sand volleyball court, playground, horseshoes and washers, a pavilion and rental facility ideal for family reunions and other group events. Featured campsites at Lake Bastrop South Shore Park include 18 cabins, six campsites (RV full hookup) and 32 campsites (RV water and electric). Other park amenities include restrooms, showers, RV dump station, 24-hour ice machine, large grill and picnic tables.
