Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for Performing Arts provides a venue for creative and fine arts of all types for the district’s students and staff, as well as the Bastrop community at-large. Students have the opportunity to develop their performance skills on stage, or get the ‘behind the scenes’ know-how necessary to work in the performing arts industry. The building’s organization creates a strong division between public and private spaces, with a circulation corridor wrapping the back stage area to provide easy access and connectivity to each performance area.
Jerry Fay Wilhelm directed Bastrop High School's U.I.L. One-Act-Play competition for 27 years, and under her direction, Bastrop High School won many awards at the district, area, regional and state levels.
