The Bastrop Homecoming and Rodeo originated in in 1947 as a way of welcoming back 90,000 soldiers who had been based at Camp Swift during WWII. Today we welcome locals and visitors alike to this unique, hometown event where you'll find live music, a rodeo, various tournaments, dances, class reunions, and a Grand Parade. This four night celebration is full of "feel good vibes" and memories for the making.

Lost Pines Art Center

Details
The Lost Pines Art Center, which opened its doors in December 2016, may well be Bastrop’s best-kept secret. But its supporters are working to assure this secret doesn’t last for long. Today, visitors enter the 12,000-square foot glass and metal building and are pleasantly surprised that it has free admission and is open six days a week. There is so much to see and experience inside. You stand in awe inside the expansive professional gallery two stories tall. There are member galleries, traveling exhibits, classroom space, and a gift gallery.
