Located on the site of the famous Bastrop Military Institute, also known as "The Academy," which was razed, the H.P. Luckett House is one of Bastrop's grand Victorians. It was built in Queen Anne style for $14,000, has ornately decorated rooms, a variety of gingerbread and fretwork and a grand staircase. The Military Institute was active during the Civil War.
