Texas will be centerstage for a total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024!  In Bastrop, at approximately 12:20 pm, the moon will start to block the sun causing an (almost) total solar eclipse. The sun is expected to eclipse until 2:25 pm. We're located right outside the path of totality, making Bastrop a great place to view the eclipse without having to maneuver the crowds. Get accurate Texas Eclipse viewing information and plan your trip to Bastrop for the 2024 Solar Eclipse!

Blow your own Glass - Beer Mugs

Details

These are 40 minute sessions held in the Glassblowing Silo on the back lawn of the Art Center. You do not need to check in at the office inside; the building opens at 11am.

All are welcome, ages 14+, to create a beer mug or “mug vase”, in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day!  We extended our time slots to 40 minutes, giving you plenty of time to choose your design and colors. Instructor, Manda Barnes, makes it fun and memorable, as you experience a taste of the glassblowing process.

One person per slot, but others can watch from our shaded bleachers in front of the beautiful glassblowing silo, located on the back lawn of the Art Center.

***Items must cool slowly overnight in the cooling ovens before they are ready to be picked up.  Pieces will be ready for pick up on Tuesday, March 13th, 9am-4pm. If you need to pick up on Monday, please contact us to make arrangements.
