The Bastrop Homecoming and Rodeo originated in in 1947 as a way of welcoming back 90,000 soldiers who had been based at Camp Swift during WWII. Today we welcome locals and visitors alike to this unique, hometown event where you'll find live music, a rodeo, various tournaments, dances, class reunions, and a Grand Parade. This four night celebration is full of "feel good vibes" and memories for the making.

Keep Bastrop County Beautiful is partnering with the City of Bastrop to offer fun, family friendly events highlighting outside activities and awareness of our natural resources. All funds go back into our community to support clean ups, pocket parks, adopt a street, environmental scholarships & recycle education.


Saturday April 21 | Fisherman’s Park

Timed 5k and 1k Fun Run 

  • Max 250 runners
  • 8:00 am 5k Timed River Run - $35
  • 9:00 am 1k Fun Un-Timed Run - $10


Kid’s Nature Fest (10am - 2pm)

Music on the Colorado & River Dance(10am - 2pm)

Sunday April 22 | Fisherman’s Park

  • 9am - 1pm | River Clean Up | $10 | 50 participant max
  • Kayaks will be provided to paddle and clean a 6-mile of the El Camino Paddle Trail on the Colorado River.
