Bastrop, Texas Holiday Homes Tour
December 12, 2009
11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For six hours on Saturday, December 12, Bastrop throws open the doors on its annual Holiday Homes Tour, a central focus of Bastrop's three-day "Lost Pines Christmas" weekend.

For more than 25 years, the tour has showcased Bastrop's historical treasures; this year's tour features seven of those treasures. Each structure reflects a piece of the history of Bastrop, founded in 1832 and serving as the gateway that led to the settlement of Texas, the founding of the Republic of Texas and statehood. Tour stops span architectural styles and periods and encompass both private and public structures, to form a composite image of Bastrop then and now, a wonderfully interesting and welcoming community that appreciates and delights in sharing its rich and diverse heritage.

The tour is a self-guided event, allowing visitors to see each location at their own pace. Docents will be on hand at each site to point out key features, to recount the structure's history and historical importance, and to answer questions.

Admission is $15 per person, payable in cash or by check only. Children under 12 are admitted free. Ticket sales for Holiday Homes Tour begin Nov. 7.
